Beneath the streets of central London lies a network of service tunnels. They carry gas mains, HV/LV and fibre-optic cables. Poor lighting, cramped conditions, wearing emergency escape breathing apparatus, are the realities of working life in the tunnels.
L&K’s job? To install new functional and emergency lighting so that all who work in the tunnels can see clearly and work safely. Sounds simple, but our first tunnel is over 2600m long, to date we have completely removed all existing lighting circuits, installed over 2000m of 110v temporary lighting and begun the tricky process of installing the new equipment.
